Wood Badge Administrative Guide:
- New Leaders Essentials (NLE) required for all adult leaders
- Leader Specific Training for:
- Cubmasters
- Cub Scout, Tiger Cub and Webelos Den Leaders
- Pack Committee Members
- Troop Committee Members
- Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters
- Varsity Scout Coaches and Assistant Coaches
- Venturing Leaders
- Commissioner Basic Training for Commissioners
- District Committee Training for District Committee Members
- Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) for:
- Required for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters and Varsity
Coaches and Assistants
- Recommended for All Participants!
- Note: Previous versions of leader training courses are acceptable
prerequisites.
In addition, Unit Committee Training is recommended for Institution Head and Chartered Organization Representatives.
All participants should review BSA's online Fast Start Training.
Districts typically offer NLE, IOLS and "position specific training" in the Fall. Check your district's website for dates, times and locations. If you have a conflict
with your district's scheduled training, check nearby districts. You may attend any district training to meet these requirements. Committee training
may be taken in the district or at BSA's online learning center.
